We had a wonderful last day of school before vacation. We went to the library to get some new books for vacation, we had our "Party in a Bag" snack celebration and made some fun ornaments. At recess some of the children read their books they received for the holidays, played a dreidel game and said our final goodbyes to our Elf, Kindness. We hope you have a wonderful holiday season and restful vacation. We will see you in 2015!

With the holiday season in full swing, we have been talking a lot about how the most beautiful gifts come from the heart. As a group we brainstormed a list of "Gifts" to give to the world. Then the children wrote their ideas, typed them on the I-Pads and printed out a copy to go on a snowflake and one to go in their writing portfolio. We glittered the snowflakes, a big hit, and hung them on our second grade tree. Here is a picture of our "Giving Tree" and a special snowflake that brought a tear to our eye.
